Former Oxford United midfielder Andy Burgess believes his new club Luton can hunt down his former side after his latest blast at his former employers.

Former midfielder Burgess has come in for criticism over his constant ranting regarding United's fortunes
Burgess who was signed by former boss Brian Talbot for a nominal fee believes United will fail to last the pace.

Luton Town's returning midfield maestro believes that the Blue Square Premier pacesetters will falter and that the Hatters will be able to take full advantage.

Burgess, 28, who played at the Kassam Stadium between 2006-07, said: "I don't think there is one outstanding squad in the division bar us. Oxford have made a good start but I honestly can't see them lasting the distance. That's my opinion and we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season."

Burgess has come out on numerous occasions to slam his former club whilst at Rushden and now Luton.
